Bad Science
Just read Ben Goldacre's magnificent Bad Science column in the Guardian today. As always, an excellent read. Today he skewers Tory health ministers when they assert there is evidence that the proposed reforms of the NHS (England) will improve outcomes for patients - the evidence is at best mixed. Should we be risking the future of healthcare in England on flimsy evidence? If they were being honest politicians would admit they are making the changes for ideological reasons. Instead they dress up their ideology as an evidence-based decision, when the facts show otherwise.
