In this article Spiked has asserted that the lack of a meltdown in the nuclear plants in Japan is proof of its safety as a source of power.

And do you what, it's true.

Many many more people die extracting coal, gas or oil every day around the world than have ever or will ever die due to a nuclear power accident. However my problem with nuclear power is the waste it creates which remains contaminated for thousands of years. But if they can be sure it is safe why not use this cutting edge, zero carbon fuel?
